Bitter Heart 05:07
I lost my job didn't, understand why. Sometimes it's hard to see past the pain in my own eyes, but God works of things together for the good of those who love him so. If you're a child of taking the King there’ll be trials so you can grow. When my world comes crashing down, I still praise him, that’s when his grace abounds. (Chorus) Better heart, angry soul, God still loves you. He’ll make diamonds from your coal. Peace of mind is closer than a friend. So his grace, your soul amend. Got my power shut off, couldn't pay my bill, but God's power sustained me when I couldn't stand on my own will. and I still praise him in the midst of pouring rain. His love still holds me his holiness remains When my world comes crashing down, I still praise him, that’s when his grace abounds. (Chorus) You've gotta, you've gotta let it go. Give it up then you will know, a peace of mind is closer that a friend. Let his grace, your sole amend. I lost my health didn't understand why, but I know some how my God is gonna be glorified. (Chorus #2) Better heart, angry soul, God still loves you. He’ll make diamonds from your coal. He’ll can make diamonds from your coal. He can renew your soul. He can do brand new, brand new, brand new things. He’ll can make diamonds from your coal. He can renew your soul. He can do brand new, brand new, brand new things.

about

This was the first full length collaboration of the Norton Brothers (Matt and Tim). It was written during a very trying time as Matt faced the need for his first liver transplant due to a rare life threatening disease. The Self Produced CD was Released under the Norton's own production company Refining Fire Productions/Refining Fire Records shortly after a successful recovery from surgery delivering five healthy years to Matt before complications set in and caused rejection and loss of the first transplant. The songs reflect the hope of the family’s faith to get them through each day and Matt’s enduring spirit to give thanks and worship God in all circumstances.

The album experimented musically with various techno and dance grooves combined with pop rock and ska rhythms and hooks. While the music did not ketch on all that well in the early 2000’s when it was first independently released, it proved to be ahead of its time fitting quite well eight years later with today’s popular music with contemporaries like Maroon 5, and Mars Bruno.

The style for the most part was abandoned along with the band name "Stone Pillow" by the Norton brothers to pursue the more classic rock sounds they grew up on. However the album does contain some of the signature characteristics of Matt’s song writing skills with several Rock ballads that stand timeless such as “Bitter Heart” and “Dream On My Child”. Fan's have also pick the punk/ska tune"My Lost Toupee" as an all time favorite. "The Right Place, The Right Time" and "You In My Life" remains favorites among band members and "Fear Not" could fit into any modern day worship service. Other strong tracks include :"Bloom Where You Are", "Don't Give Up" and The Title Track Work In Progress" reminding listeners that God is not done yet and in the midst of our darkest hour God can still deliver us.
